Jets have gone all in in pursuit of future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers
Since the Packers fell short of reaching the playoffs, the focus remains around star quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ NFL future.
Rodgers has maintained uncertainty regarding his status for the 2023 season despite being under contract for the next four years. As a result, the Packers have subtly pushed towards a potential future without the four-time league MVP under center.

It has opened the door for the New York Jets to swoop in as the frontrunner for Aaron Rodgers’ signature. According to ESPN, there is increasing optimism within the Jets’ organization as the team met with the star quarterback.
The group that spoke with Rodgers was headed by team owner Woody Johnson, general manager Joe Douglas, head coach Robert Saleh and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. Although the 39-year-old hasn’t indicated what direction he’s leaning, New York has gone all in to convince him to want a trade to the franchise.

The fact that the Packers are allowing Rodgers to speak with the Jets is a clear indication that the organization is more than open to moving on from him. Green Bay appears ready to give Jordan Love the opportunity to showcase if he can be the next franchise cornerstone.
Meanwhile, if Rodgers returns, he’s made it clear that he wants to compete for a Super Bowl. The Jets took significant steps forward in 2022 despite not making the playoffs, and his addition could be the missing piece to push them that much closer to vying for a championship.
