Jon Gruden views Derek Carr as ‘biggest reason’ Raiders could upset Chiefs
The Las Vegas Raiders have played better than expected throughout the first four weeks of the 2020 NFL season. Although they sit at 2-2 right now, Jon Gruden’s squad is fighting every single week to remain competitive and motivated.
In Week 5, the Raiders will face their toughest challenge of the season, the defending Super Bowl champion. The division rivalry against Kansas City Chiefs will test them. Patrick Mahomes and company have been arguably the best team in the league thus far. As a result, they are expected to come out with a win this week.
If the Raiders can defy the odds and get the win over their division rival, Gruden believes it will be due to the play of Carr under center, via Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.

Derek Carr is 0-6 at Arrowhead Stadium. @Jerrymcd asks if it's a hill Carr has to climb. "Derek is going to hear it until he does it," said #Raiders coach Jon Gruden, who added that Carr is the Raiders' "biggest reason" they have a shot at the upset at the #KCChiefs.

Las Vegas is the underdog for this Week 5 matchup with Kansas City. It’s no surprise why considering the team’s hot start of the 2020 campaign. Mahomes and company have an offense that can seemingly light up any opposing defense and that is the biggest flaw for the Raiders.
The defense has not been ideal for the Raiders and it will be put to the test against arguably the best offense in the NFL today. It’ll be interesting to see if Gruden’s squad is up for the challenge because if the team can compete with the Chiefs and pull off the upset, the Raiders will be a team to watch moving forward as they could be a real threat in the AFC moving forward.
