The Oakland Raiders have gone from one of the worst teams in the NFL to a potential Super Bowl title contender in the AFC this season. Quarterback Derek Carr and the seemingly unstoppable offense has been one of the main reasons for the team’s success while the defense leaves something to be desired in Oakland.

Although the Raiders defense is considered to be a powerhouse in the league right now, the team does have one of the best players in the NFL on that side of the football. Khalil Mack has quickly become a force to be reckoned with in this league and talked about the team’s mantra moving forward, via Paul Gutierrez of ESPN:

“Man, by any means,” All-Pro defensive end/outside linebacker Khalil Mack told me in the Mexico City locker room. “By any means necessary. We’re going to go out there and try to get that win, and that’s the message through the week.

“Everybody pulled it together, man, believing, believing that we were going to get those stops. We’ve got a resilient bunch. We’re going to make it happen, regardless.”

The Raiders have been as resilient a team as there is in the league this season and as a result, are sporting an 8-2 record heading into their showdown with Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers in Week 12. The Raiders have won four straight and will look to continue to distance themselves from the pack as the top seed in the AFC.

As of Friday, the Raiders are -3 favorites at home against the visiting Panthers, according to Sportsbook.ag. Carolina will have their work cut out for them against the red-hot Raiders with both linebacker Luke Kuechly (concussion) and center Ryan Kalil (shoulder) ruled out with injuries.
