The Arizona Cardinals are having a forgettable season. The once-force to be reckoned with  has become one of the worst teams in the league this season. Although there was a reason to celebrate in Week 14 with star wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald making NFL history.

This is an impressive feat, to say the least. Fitzgerald has been a beacon of longevity and consistency in the NFL. The Cardinals superstar wideout continues to produce for Arizona. He does so despite the fact the team is struggling this season with a rookie quarterback, Josh Rosen, under center.

Prior to this season, Fitzgerald recorded three straights years with 107 receptions or more. Twice in the last three years, he had 109 catches which were among the best in the league.

However, this year has been difficult for the future Hall of Famer as he deals with a rebuilding season in Arizona. Fitzgerald was considering retirement in the offseason following the retirement announcements of head coach Bruce Arians and quarterback Carson Palmer. He chose to return even with a lot of uncertainty in Arizona in terms of whether they’d be competitive or not during the 2018 campaign.

In 12 this season, Fitzgerald has recorded 47 catches for 508 yards and five touchdowns. In a loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday, the veteran wideout caught five passes for 55 yards and put himself in select company by passing Rice in a prestigious category.
