Micah Parsons Makes Stunning Claim About Commanders’ Jayden Daniels
The Washington Commanders are days removed from a frustrating result in the 27-27 overtime tie with the New York Giants.
Green Bay Packers star pass rusher Micah Parsons poured salt into the wound by underscoring that third-year quarterback Jayden Daniels’ mistake on the final play of overtime could cost head coach Dan Quinn his job.
“Jayden Daniels probably cost my man Dan Quinn his job, to be honest with you,” Parsons said on his podcast, “The Edge with Micah Parsons.”
“To be honest with you. And, like, I’m a big Jayden Daniels fan. But the reality is, he probably cost a lot of people their jobs this past weekend.”
The Commanders had a chance to win in overtime after getting the ball at the Giants’ 24-yard line with 50 seconds left. However, Daniels didn’t snap the ball until there were 12 seconds left in the overtime frame, and, with no timeouts remaining, he dropped back to pass after a fake handoff; he then scrambled and was tackled with eight seconds left.

The Commanders were unable to get off a snap to spike the ball to stop the clock before the overtime period ended. It was a massive mistake that leaves the Commanders in an even tougher spot, sitting at a 1-3-1 record heading into Week 6 action.
It may be a bit of a stretch for Parsons to say that Quinn’s job is on the line this week, but the overtime snafu has put the Commanders in a tougher spot to push toward the playoffs.
