Myles Garrett Makes Concerning Admission Before Rams Place Him on IR
The Los Angeles Rams suffered another early-season blow after star defensive end Myles Garrett is set to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his knee.
It will land him on the injured reserve, forcing him to miss the next four games.
Throughout much of the latter end of the preseason and training camp, Garrett didn’t practice much due to knee swelling that kept him off the field.
Garrett pushed himself to play in the season opener loss to the San Francisco 49ers, where he struggled to make a strong impact as he finished the game without a single tackle. Following the game, the reigning Defensive NFL Player of the Year acknowledged that he was still having issues with his knee.
“I’ve got to find a way to recover and get back to the player I know I can be and I’ve shown that I’ve been before,” Garrett said via ESPN.
Garrett’s arrival at the Rams played a significant role in star defensive tackle Aaron Donald rejoining the franchise after spending the last two seasons in retirement. The Rams will likely have to wait until midway through the season to see the two future first-ballot Hall of Famers share the field together.

With Garret out, the Rams will turn to Byron Young and second-year outside linebacker Josiah Stewart to provide edge pass rushing. Meanwhile, Donald will factor into the equation, but it is uncertain what his role will be once he plays this season.
