Myles Garrett Addresses Possibility of Forming Historic Rams Partnership With Aaron Donald
Since the Los Angeles Rams acquired star defensive end Myles Garrett, chatter about the potential unretirement of Aaron Donald has grown louder.
Donald has only increased that noise by exploring the possibility through workouts, physical conditioning, and mental preparation for that scenario. As the three-time Defensive Player of the Year works through his process, Garrett voiced excitement about possibly playing alongside the future first-ballot Hall of Famer.
“I don’t want to push him in one way or another,” Garrett said Wednesday via ESPN. “If he’s here, I’m going to be excited to be his teammate, his partner in crime. And I think we can do great things, but it’s a difficult thing coming back, and I know he has a family. He has a lot of decisions to make.”
There is an obvious, strong interest from Garrett and the Rams organization as a whole in possibly getting Donald back on the field. At the same time, the team is letting him work through his process of figuring out whether he can physically and mentally make his way back to football shape and form.

It’s something that has only continued to pick up steam as head coach Sean McVay has increasingly voiced more promising comments about Donald’s potential comeback attempt. He has stated that Donald is handling the physicality well, while expressing that they will continue to allow him to operate independently.
What all the signs seem to point to is that a decision is coming soon, with the start of the regular season just over a month away.
