NFC East Comes Down to the Last Weeks Again

The New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys apparently like this script. Now they’ve sucked the Washington Redskins into it as well. Last season, the Giants were 7-7 after 14 weeks, coming off an ugly loss to the Redskins. There was actually talk of letting coach Tom Coughlin go at the end of the season. They were about to face the New York Jets in a game both really needed to win for their playoff lives. Many felt the Jets would win that day. But the Giants hammered them. This setup up a winner take all, loser go home game with the Cowboys for the NFC East championship on the last week of the regular season. The Giants won that game and went on to win the Super Bowl. So should we count the Giants out just because they have not been going well as of late?

This time there is a three way tie with two weeks to go in the division. The Giants, Cowboys and Redskins are all 8-6. Here are the games they still have to play:

The Giants play at the Baltimore Ravens and hos t the Philadelphia Eagles. Both of those teams have been struggling lately too. So the Giants have the chance to repeat what they did a year ago.

The Cowboys have the New Orleans Saints at home and then go to Washington. Those are going to be a couple of tough games. The Saints are coming off a 41-0 win last week over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They have won six of their last ten.

The Redskins are playing at Philadelphia before hosting the Cowboys. So the Eagles will have a say in who wins this thing. Here are TopBet odds on this week’s games:

Saints at Cowboys- Saints are +3 -125 or +120. Cowboys are -3 +105 or -140. Over/under is 52. We are going to take the Cowboys -140 on this one. They have too much at stake to let it get away. We will also take the over.

Redskins at Eagles- Redskins are -6.5 -110 or -265. Eagles are +6.5 -110 or +225. We like the Redskins -6.5 and the under. Washington has been playing very well and the Eagles did not respond well to the spoiler role a week ago against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Giants at Ravens- Giants are -2.5 -110 or -135. Ravens are +2.5 -110 or +115. We like the Ravens +115. Both of these teams have a lot at stake in this game. Neither has been playing very well lately. But the Ravens are at home and the Giants can’t keep doing it this way forever. Over/under is 47. We like the under.
