NFC North Live Blog: Browns at Vikings
It is that time again folks. Time for our NFC North Sunday Live Blog. Thanks Direct TV and Sunday ticket, otherwise I would be stuck watching the Jaguars and the Bucs every week.
Today we will be watching and talking about the Cleveland Browns vs the Minnesota Vikings game, Neither team is in the win column so far.
The Vikings took the opening kid starting just short of the 20 yard line. Christian Ponder lined at at quarterback to start and with two Adrian Peterson runs and a Ponder pass they picked up a first down. Then Ponder threw a deep ball to Greg Jennings down to the Browns 40. After a short Peterson gain to the 38 it was second and eight. Again Peterson got the ball for three more yards which made it third and five. Jennings was then wide open at the 15 for a first down and another Peterson run gave them a first and goal. From there Peterson ran in his third touchdown of the season.
TOUCHDOWN VIKINGS!! Vikings 7 Browns 0
A very impressive opening drive for the Vikings went 60 yards in 11 plays.
The Browns took their first possession and quickly went three and out. They punted the ball back to the Vikings who will now look to take a commanding lead. Not the start the Browns need, especially on the road.
Cleveland made an interesting trade earlier in the week when they traded running back Trent Richardson to the Indianapolis Colts. They signed Willis McGahee. On paper that seems a bit of a downgrade.
The Browns defense stiffens up and stops Peterson short of the first down on third and nine. Vikings punt and now the Browns go back on offense.
McGahee picked up the Browns first down of the game. He was stopped for no gain on the next first down play and then Brian Hoyer got his arm hit as he was throwing on second down. On third down he hit his tight end who made a nice run for the first down.
Then on the next play, Hoyer throws deep to a wide open receiver for a 48 yard touchdown to Josh Gordon

After a third and one completion for a first down, they ran Gordon on a reverse down deep into Vikings territory. On the first play of the second quarter, Hoyer throws a touchdown to the tight end Cameron from 19 yards out.
