NFC South Week Five

The Atlanta Falcons are one of only two unbeaten teams in the NFL after the Arizona Cardinals fell last night to the St.Louis Rams. Last week the Falcons beat the Carolina Panthers 30-28 to remain unbeaten. The Panthers and their coach Ron Rivera drew some criticism for not going for a fourth and very short late in the game. Instead the Panthers punted and pinned the Falcons next to their own goal line. But Matt Ryan stepped into the end zone and threw one as far as he can. Roddy White made a great catch against two Panther defensive backs and that that set up the winning field goal. Asked about the strategy, Rivera said he would do it again in the same situation.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost a tough one to the Washington Redskins last week. The Redskins grabbed the lead early and led by 21-6 at halftime. But the Bucs came back to grab the lead at 22-21 before the Redskins Billy Cundiff hit the game winning field goal from 41 yards with :03 left. It was the only score of the half for the Redskins.

The New Orleans Saints dropped to 0-4 with a tough loss against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. The Packers took the lead 28-27 with 7:00 to go and the Saints were unable to answer.

So the Falcons lead the division by three games over the Bucs and Panthers and by four over the Saints.

TopBet has the Falcons -3 -110 or -160 at Washington who is +3 -110 or +140. Over/under is 51.5.  We like the over on this game and we like Atlanta -3.

Seattle is +3 -110 or +135 at Carolina at -3 -110 or -155. Over/under is 43.5. We like the Seahawks +3

San Diego is +3.5 -110 or +155 at the Saints who are -3.5 -175. Over/under is 54.5. We don’t get it either but take the Chargers +155.

Tampa Bay is off this week.
