NFL Draft 2019: 5 storylines to watch
With the NFL Draft 2019 fast approaching, there are a number of storylines that will shape the narrative and in turn, the upcoming season.
We take a look at five storylines in the upcoming 2019 NFL Draft.
5. How do the Packers continue closing the gap on the Bears?
Green Bay has two picks in the first round of the NFL Draft this year, having both their own and the New Orleans Saints’ choice. If the Packers are going to challenge in the NFC North and beyond during head coach Matt LaFleur’s first year, this is a golden opportunity for general manager Brian Gutekunst. Looking at the roster, one wonders if Gutekunst will attempt to land one of the Iowa tight ends, Noah Fans and T.J. Hockenson.

4. Is there any chance Nick Bosa isn’t on the 49ers?
If there was one marriage of team and player that seems assured, it’s this one. San Francisco is picking second-overall and should Kyler Murray Goa t the top of the proceedings, that would leave Bosa — the man who is universally believed to be the best player in this draft — for the 49ers at No. 2. Bosa has all the tools, a family pedigree and the luxury of going to a team that has real upside in San Francisco.
3. Does D.K. Metcalf end up being a top-10 selection?
There are a litany of players who could go anywhere in the first 50 picks of this draft, but former Ole Miss Rebels wide receiver D.K. Metcalf might have the biggest variance from one team to the next. After finishing his college career hurt and as the second-best receiver on his team, Metcalf has turned the league on its ear with great 40 times, tremendous physical workouts and more.
2. Where do the secondary quarterbacks go?
We all assume that Kyler Murray sig going to come off the board with the No. 1 overall pick, whether it’s with the Arizona Cardinals or not. If that is there case, where will guys such as Dwayne Haskins, Drew Lock and Daniel Jones end up going? There’s ample speculation that the Oakland Raider could be in play with one of their three first-round picks. If not them, look at teams like the New York Giants, Washington Redskins, Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos.

1. What do the Arizona Cardinals end up doing?
The Cardinals have the first-overall pick, and most believe that Kyler Murray will be headed that way. But what if Arizona decides go in another direction, perhaps bolstering its defense with a player such as Nick Bosa?if that happens, the Cardinals would be allowing Murray to slide down the board. In that scenario, the San Francisco 49ers and New York Jets would be sitting pretty, collecting trade offers as far as the eye can see.
