5 NFL favorites to bet in Week 7

The NFL season rolls right into Week 7 with the contenders and pretenders starting to sort themselves out. This weekend there will be 14 games, with the action being kicked off by the Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals in the desert on Thursday night.

Let’s take a look at the five favorites worth betting on, with all the lines, as always, courtesy of OddsShark.

5. Buffalo Bills at Indianapolis Colts (-7.5)

This isn’t a game worth watching unless you have money riding on the outcome. The Colts are only 1-5 and mostly because the defense is rancid and the offense has been ravaged by injuries, but the Bills are going to struggle this week. Why? Derek Anderson is making his first start for Buffalo, and there’s little chance he has any chemistry with the receivers. Andrew Luck’s presence, and the return of T.Y. Hilton, should bring a cover.

4. New England Patriots (-2.5) at Chicago Bears

It’s always tough taking a road team as a favorite, but the Patriots are a different breed. New England is going to score on any defense it plays including Chicago’s, especially with Khalil Mack already missing the first two days of practice and perhaps the upcoming tilt. The Bears need Mitchell Trubisky to play great in his first game against Bill Belichick. Good luck.

3. Tennessee Titans at Los Angeles Chargers (-6.5)

This game is in London, and the Chargers are still favored by 6.5 points. Los Angeles is clearly the better team and if you’ve seen the Titans, there is no reason to believe they can score some garbage time points to make up the spread. Tennessee needs to create turnovers to stay in the contest, otherwise the Chargers are going to run away with the win.

2. Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs (-6)

The Chiefs and Bengals are both coming off last-second losses, but there’s a key difference. Kansas City is coming home and readying to play in front of a frenzied primetime audience. Cincinnati, which is 0-10 in its last 10 Sunday night games, has to deal with all that, along with Patrick Mahomes, Kareem Hunt, Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce and Sammy Watkins. That’s a huge ask for the Bengals, one that should prove to be too much.

1. Minnesota Vikings (-3.5) at New York Jets

The Vikings are simply the better team. New York is 3-3 and the future is bright, but the Jets are going to have a tough time scoring against Minnesota’s personnel. Unless Kirk Cousins turns the ball over repeatedly, the Vikings should walk out with the win and the cover.
