NFL power rankings, Week 5: Bills, Chiefs top AFC
The NFL power rankings are here for Week 5, and we look at the AFC and try to figure out who can challenge the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs.
16. Houston Texans (LW: 16)
The Texans are the only team with a goose egg in the win column, and it might stay that way for awhile.
15. Pittsburgh Steelers (LW: 13)
The Steelers can’t block, but they make up for it by throwing four interceptions. It’s bad, bad offensive football.
14. New England Patriots (LW: 14)
New England has enjoyed a run of more than 20 years. It’s over, and it’s largely because the talent level isn’t up to par.
13. New York Jets (LW: 15)
The Jets are 2-2 and could easily be 0-4. That said, a win against the Dolphins this weekend puts New York in second place of the AFC East.
12. Indianapolis Colts (LW: 11)
Indianapolis desperately needs to find a win against Mr. Unlimited on Thursday night. Without a victory, the Colts fall to 1-3-1.

11. Cleveland Browns (LW: 10)
Can the Browns beat good teams? Yes. Can they lose to horrible teams? Yes. This week, the Chargers, who are the weirdest team in the league.
10. Las Vegas Raiders (LW: 12)
The Raiders saved their season by handling the Broncos at home. Now, they go to play the Chiefs on Monday night in another must-have.
9. Tennessee Titans (LW: 9)
Tennessee went from looking cooked at 0-2, to being atop the AFC South in two weeks. Wild stuff.
8. Los Angeles Chargers (LW: 8)
What the heck do you make with the Chargers? Los Angeles is 2-2 and looks inconsistent and yet very talented.
7. Denver Broncos (LW: 6)
Denver can’t score, but the defense has kept it alive. Now, the Broncos are without Randy Gregory for at least month. Can they survive?

6. Jacksonville Jaguars (LW: 7)
Jacksonville has done a nice job, and although the Jaguars lost last weekend to the Philadelphia Eagles, they move up the NFL power rankings. The loss was mostly because of fumbles in the rain.
5. Baltimore Ravens (LW: 4)
The Ravens need to stop blowing huge leads at home. The defense is a major problem.
4. Cincinnati Bengals (LW: 5)
Cincinnati has dug out of its 0-2 hole and now can take the division lead with a win on Sunday night at Baltimore.
3. Miami Dolphins (LW: 3)
The Dolphins lost to the Bengals last Thursday, but the bigger concern is the health of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
2. Kansas City Chiefs (LW: 2)
When the Chiefs play the way they did against Tampa Bay, nobody is beating them.
1. Buffalo Bills (LW: 1)
Down 20-3 in Baltimore, the Bills finished with 20 unanswered points. Impressive stuff.
