NFL Preseason Week Two Odds and Picks
The Lions and Browns are a pick em.
Week one of the NFL preseason is in the books. Last week we advised to take the points and the under. Let’s see how that went.
Unders did not work all that well. Some of the games were rather high scoring, a lot of this was due to defensive and special teams scores ans backups on offense made several key mistakes. The Baltimore Ravens for example did not look very good when the starters were in the game. Joe Flacco was a pedestrian 7-9 for 57 yards and an interception as they trailed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 3-0 at the end of the first quarter. But in the second quarter, the backups for Baltimore lit Tampa Bay up for 24 points. Baltimore intercepted three passes and had a blocked punt for a touchdown. But the Ravens were the underdog so we did get that right.
In fact, the road teams on Thursday won every game but one. For the most part, the road teams were getting about three points. So if you took our advice and took the underdogs, you did well. On Friday, the road teams won four of eight but the Dallas Cowboys hung with the Oakland Raiders on the road, losing 19-17. So taking the away teams likely made you money there too. On Saturday and Sunday, the road teams were two for two.

Thursday 8/15
Detroit Lions at Cleveland Browns– this game is a Pick em with both teams -110 ATS. Over/Under is 41.5 with both -110 . Let’s keep with the trend and take Detroit and the under -110.
Atlanta Falcons at Baltimore Ravens– Falcons are +5 -110 and Ravens are -5 -110. Over/Under is 41.5 with both -110. Take the Falcons +5 and the under -110.
Carolina Panthers at Philadelphia Eagles– Panthers are +3 -110 and Eagles are -3 -110. Over/Under is 42.5 with both -110. We like the Panthers +3 and the under -110.
San Diego Chargers at Chicago Bears– Chargers at +6 -110 and Bears are -6 -110. Over/Under is 37.5 with both -110. We like the Chargers +6 and the over-110 on this one.
On Friday 8/16, Oddsmaker has the odds:
Minnesota Vikings at Buffalo Bills– Vikings are +3.5 -110 and Bills are -3.5 -110 ATS. O/U is 42 with both -110. Take the Vikings +3.5 and the under -110.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New England Patriots– Bucs are +3.5 -110 and Pats are -3.5 -110. O/U is 41.5 with both -110. We’ll go with the Bucs +3.5 and the over -110.
Oakland Raiders at New Orleans Saints– Raiders are +6.5 -110 and Saints -6.5 -110. O/U is 41 with both -110. We like the Raiders +6.5 and the over -110.
San Francisco 49ers at Kansas City Chiefs– 49ers are +1 -110 and Chiefs are -1 -110. O/U is 40 with both -110. We’ll take the Niners -1 and the under -110.
Those are all of your Thursday and Friday games this week. There are many more on Saturday and Sunday so if this trend works again and you make money on Thursday and Friday by taking the road teams with the points, then do it again on Saturday. Make some easy money while you can because this will not work when the regular season starts.
