NFL Week 11 gambling lines: 5 underdogs to bet on
NFL Week 11 kicks off this Sunday, and there are a few potential surprise results in the schedule.
5. Houston Texans at Washington Redskins (+3)
Can anybody explain why the Redskins are underdogs in the game? Both teams are 6-3 and while Houston is coming off the bye, Washington is at home. The Texans have won six straight games, but those wins have come against the Colts, Bills, Dolphins, Broncos, Jaguars and Cowboys. None of those teams have a winning record, and save Miami and to some extent Jacksonville, all of them were nail biters. The Redskins should not only cover here, they should win the game if they are to be taken seriously in the NFC.
4. Pittsburgh Steelers at Jacksonville Jaguars (+5.5)
Jacksonville is in complete and utter freewill. Prior to their Week 4 tilt with the Kansas City Chiefs, the Jaguars talked a ton of smack before getting blown out. Since then the team hasn’t recovered — or won — losing five consecutive decisions. So why bet on Jacksonville? Because the Jaguars dominated the Steelers twice last season, and 5.5 points are too many when a desperate team is at home against a franchise that has become known for blowing road games it should win.

3. Philadelphia Eagles (+8.5) at New Orleans Saints
The Saints are unquestionably the better team here and should win. New Orleans just finished hanging 52 points on the Cincinnati Bengals, something that could have been even worse if Sean Payton didn’t call off the proverbial dogs. Still, the Eagles are a proud team that is defending a title, and Philadelphia has the stars along the defensive line to make it tough running the ball. Look, the Saints are going to throw all over the place, but this game screams backdoor cover.
2. Kansas City Chiefs (+2.5) at Los Angeles Rams
This one goes on here because anytime you have a 9-1 team getting points, you put the hammer down. The Chiefs are the league’s best scoring offense at better than 35 points per game, and the group is healthy with Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins, Kareem Hunt and Travis Kelce leading the way against a disappointing Rams defense. Kansas City is going to put up a ton of yardage and points against Los Angeles, which hasn’t been able to hold even average offenses down. This might be the game of the year.

1. Minnesota Vikings (+3) at Chicago Bears
This one is very simple. The Vikings are coming off their bye week, are getting three points, and have the better roster. It’s not fair to say the Bears aren’t vastly improved, but by the same token, they have played exactly one team with a winning record this season, and they were handled by them in the New England Patriots. Chicago is getting there, but Minnesota should win this game outright, let alone covering the field goal.
