NFL Week 12 odds: 5 best bets on underdogs

NFL Week 12 begins with the Texans VS the Colts on Thursday Night Football. We look at five of the best underdogs bets in NFL Week 12.

5. Indianapolis Colts (+3.5) at Houston Texans

Indianapolis is technically in first place of the AFC South as it visits the Texans. Houston already lost to the Colts once this year and while this game is at NRG Stadium, there’s a massive difference in the men on the sidelines. Frank Reich has comically outcoached Bill O’Brien in each of their past two meetings. Houston should win this game with a better quarterback and home field on a short week, but 3.5 points is too many.

4. Dallas Cowboys (+6.5) at New England Patriots

Why not take the Cowboys in this spot to cover? Even if they do it back-door, they should be able to cover a touchdown spread. New England has a fantastic defense but the offense is more rumor than unit at this point. Tom Brady has struggled all year long, the running game is a mess and the tight end position was never backfilled after Rob Gronkowski retired. The Patriots should win outright, but the Cowboys should cover 6.5 points.

3. New York Giants (+6) at Chicago Bears

How in the world are the Bears laying six points to anybody? Last week, Chicago only scored seven points. The week prior, the Bears hosted Jeff Driskel and the Detroit Lions and managed to croak out 20 points. The Giants aren’t good, but they should be able to mange somewhere around 14-17 points. If that’s the case, good luck getting Mitchell Trubisky to cover. He’s been terrible all year, and although he should have one of his better days, that isn’t saying much.

2. Miami Dolphins (+10.5) at Cleveland Browns

The disrespect. Miami is 2-8 and ticketed for a top-five pick, but it shouldn’t be a double-digit underdog in this game. The Browns have won their last two games but have been anything but impressive in doing so. Cleveland likely wins again, but the Dolphins are more than capable of keeping this close or even pulling the upset behind Ryan Fitzpatrick.

1. New York Jets (+2,5) vs. Oakland Raiders

This is the game to bet. Right here. The Jets are getting the Raiders when they have to come all the way across the country. Oakland is also dreaming about the matchup in two weeks when it goes to Kansas City for an AFC West tilt with the Chiefs. Everybody is already talking about that one. Nobody is worrying about New York, which has won two straight. This has to be the biggest trap game on the Week 12 slate.
