NFL Week 15 lines: 5 best bets on favorites

If you want to bet favorites in the NFL Week 15 slate, these five games are worth your attention this weekend.

5. San Francisco 49ers (-3) at Dallas Cowboys

Straight up, this is a bit of a wild card. Nick Mullens has some good games and has some awful ones. If the Niners can block DeMarcus Lawrence and Aldon Smith to a reasonable degree, San Francisco should get one of his better games.

Dallas has been atrocious in the running game, with Ezekiel Elliott not scoring a touchdown since early October. If this comes down to Andy Dalton slinging it against a good 49ers defense, take the road team.

4. Pittsburgh Steelers (-13) at Cincinnati Bengals

Now we get into betting on some heavy favorites. Vegas doesn’t like to go higher than 13 points, and this is a good spot to take advantage of said tendency. Pittsburgh is coming off a pair of losses, and needs to handle business against a horrific Bengals team to stay in the second seed — and potentially move to the first.

Cincinnati has no offense without Joe Burrow and the defense is one of the league’s worst. Expect for everyone to be talking up the Steelers on Tuesday morning.

3. Los Angeles Rams (-17.5) vs. New York Jets

Alright, that tendency I outlined above? The Jets are immune. Los Angeles is laying a huge 17.5 points, but you should still swallow them. New York has all sorts of problems including the league’s worst passing game. This week, the Jets go against the best pass defense in football, led by All-Pro corner Jalen Ramsey and the best pass rusher on earth in Aaron Donald.

If you believe the Rams can score 24 points, bet on them to cover.

2. Baltimore Ravens (-13) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Another huge line, another really bad team on the road. Jacksonville is starting Gardner Minshew, but is also winless since Week 1. Baltimore desperately needs to win if it has designs on reaching the postseason, and Jacksonville figures to offer almost on resistance.

This screams blowout from the start, especially considering how bad the Jaguars have been defensively this year.

1. Green Bay Packers (-8.5) vs. Carolina Panthers

Love this bet on Saturday night. Green Bay knows it controls its own destiny. Win out and the Packers are the NFC’s top seed. Meanwhile, Carolina is one again with Christian McCaffrey and has a league-worst pass rush.

It’s going to be brutal for the Panthers to limit Aaron Rodgers at Lambeau Field.
