NFL Week 16 odds: Initial thoughts on each line

NFL Week 16 kicks off with the Houston Texans at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. We take a look at each line in NFL Week 16.

Houston Texans (-2.5) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay is on fire. The Texans are the better team, but love the home team on a short week.

Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots (-6)

Tough not to think the Pats win this game, but the Bills should cover. New England can’t score.

Los Angeles Rams at San Francisco 49ers (-6.5)

The 49ers need to win, and the Rams don’t after extinguishing their playoff hopes by losing to Dallas. San Francisco should cover here.

Baltimore Ravens (-10) at Cleveland Browns

The Browns are completely in the tank. Baltimore can wrap up home-field advantage. The Ravens are going to take care of business.

Carolina Panthers at Indianapolis Colts (-5.5)

The Colts are going to be furious after being embarrassed nationally. The Panthers are starting Will Grier.

Cincinnati Bengals at Miami Dolphins (-1)

Miami and Cincinnati are both terrible, but the Dolphins are at home and the better team.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Atlanta Falcons (-7.5)

How can you not love the Falcons here? At home, much better offense, terrific quarterback.

New York Giants at Washington Redskins (-2.5)

Both these teams are awful, but the Redskins have played better in recent weeks. Washington should take care of the Giants and get their fourth win, but take the points on the spread. Should be tight.

New Orleans Saints (-1.5) at Tennessee Titans

Tennessee needs the game more, but the Saints are trying to get home field and while the Titans are good, they aren’t of the same caliber.

Pittsburgh Steelers (-3) at New York Jets

If the Steelers can’t win this game, they don’t deserve a playoff spot. Pittsburgh should win and cover.

Detroit Lions at Denver Broncos (-6.5)

The Lions and Broncos are both headed for a long winter, but Denver is hanging tough. Detroit has won once since Week 3.

Oakland Raiders at Los Angeles Chargers (-5.5)

The Chargers are getting an emotionally flat Raiders team. This could be a big day — and maybe his last one — for Philip Rivers.

Arizona Cardinals at Seattle Seahawks (-9.5)

The Seahawks are in control of their own destiny for the NFC’s top seed. Tough to envision the Cardinals going in and spoiling the party, but that’s a big line. Take the points.

Dallas Cowboys (-2.5) at Philadelphia Eagles

Love the Cowboys here in what continues to be a big week for favorites. Dallas is coming off a huge win, and the Eagles barely beat the Giants and Redskins the past two weeks.

Kansas City Chiefs (-5) at Chicago Bears

Chicago was just eliminated from playoff contention and the Chiefs are rolling as winners of four straight. Patrick Mahomes laying five to Mitchell Trubisky. Swallow the damn points.

Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings (-4.5)

Take the points. Minnesota is better, but Green Bay keeps it within a field goal.
