NFL Week 16 schedule: 5 best games to watch

NFL Week 16 features no Thursday Night Football games. Luckily, the wait will be worth it for the matchups in NFL Week 16.

5. Houston Texans (-3) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Not a game anybody would have put on the list a month ago, but here we are. The Texans are trying to clinch their second AFC South title in as many years, while the Buccaneers are eliminated from the playoffs, but going for five consecutive victories. Jameis Winston going against Deshaun Watson is intriguing on its own, but factoring in what the game means to Houston, it becomes one of the better games this weekend. Not a bad away to get the Saturday triple header rolling.

4. Dallas Cowboys (-1.5) at Philadelphia Eagles

This game has to be on here by default. If the Cowboys win, the rancid NFC East is finally decided. If the Eagles win, they would only need to beat the New York Giants to finish off the division and host a playoff game in the Wild Card round. Despite both teams being 7-7, Dallas is the road favorite, showing Vegas has very little faith and Carson Wentz and Co. to get the job done.

3. New Orleans Saints (-2.5) at Tennessee Titans

Huge game for both sides. The Titans can’t be eliminated from playoff contention with a loss, but the AFC South would belong to the Texans. Therefore, the only avenue to making the playoffs would be the AFC’s sixth seed, and the Pittsburgh Steelers would need to lose one of their final two games, while the Titans win in Houston next weekend. Meanwhile, the Saints are trying to get home-field advantage. Currently, New Orleans sits third in the NFC standings at 11-3, only because of tiebreakers.

2. Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings (-5.5)

Monday night has been hit or miss this year, but this might be the best game yet. The Vikings are trying to clinch a playoff berth (which would also happen if the Los Angeles Rams lose to the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday night) while the Packers would finish off the NFC North with a win. Should Minnesota walk away victorious, it would force the division to come down to Week 17, with the Packers needing to beat the lowly Detroit Lions to clinch.

1. Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots (-6.5)

Best game of the week. Look, the Patriots are going to win the division. New England would need to lose to both the Bills and Miami Dolphins at home to blow the AFC East. However, Buffalo can make a huge statement both moving forward within the division and for the playoffs by going into Foxborough and beating New England.
