NFL Week 3 schedule: 5 teams that need to win the most

Which five teams need a win the most on the NFL Week 3 schedule? We break it down, starting with a surprise at the top.

5. Denver Broncos

Why are the Broncos on here as a 2-0 team? Because after they take on the New York Jets at Mile High this weekend, the schedule gets brutal. The following months consists of games against the Baltimore Ravens (home), Pittsburgh Steelers (road), Las Vegas Raiders (home) and Cleveland Browns (away). Even a good team might only go 2-2, and so if Denver wants to make a move in the AFC, it needs to pummel the winless Jets.

4. New York Giants

The Giants are 0-2 but are coming off 10 ays worth of rest after losing in Week 2 on Thursday night to the Washington Football Team. New York gets some good news, though, as it returns to the Meadowlands to face the also 0-2 Atlanta Falcons, who have somehow managed to give up 40 points per game thus far. If quarterback Daniel Jones and his hoard of weapons can’t slice up the Falcons, the season is likely lost.

3. Pittsburgh Steelers

After losing the home opener to the Raiders on Sunday, the Steelers face a monumental moment. Pittsburgh is 1-1 and welcomes in the Cincinnati Bengals to Heinz Field, with the visitors also 1-1. If Ben Roethlisberger and Co. want to compete with Cleveland and Baltimore in the AFC North, winning against the division’s worst team, at home, is an absolute must.

2. Indianapolis Colts

Now we get to the desperate teams who some believed were contenders before the season began. Indianapolis is sitting at 0-2 after losing at home to the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams to start the campaign. Now, the Colts go on the road to take on the Tennessee Titans in an AFC South showdown. Losing to the Titans would put Indy two games behind Tennessee with only a split possible in the head-to-head tiebreaker. If the Colts want to keep touch in the division, this is a must-win situation.

1. Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings could easily be 2-0, but yet they find themselves winless after blowing games against the Bengals and Arizona Cardinals. Minnesota is in a winnable division, as the NFC North has gotten off to a hideous start. Yet nothing has gone right for the Vikings, who now come home to host a Seahawks team which lost a 24-9 lead last week to the Titans before losing in overtime. For Minnesota, this is a desperate moment.
