Odell Beckham Jr. rumored to have told Rams players ‘he wants in’
The plot thickens in the Odell Beckham Jr. saga with the New York Giants. The team has reportedly put a price tag on what it will take to trade for the superstar wide receiver with two first-round draft picks expected to get it done if a team comes calling with an offer.
However, nothing is set in stone at this point. Beckham playing in a Giants uniform once again still being the most likely outcome for the perennial Pro Bowler. Although New York is where he’s at right now, there might be a good chance he lands with the Rams. Los Angeles are a team who have been incredibly active in their efforts to upgrade their roster.
According to Gary Meyers of the New York Daily News, Beckham has reached out to some players on the Rams to say he wants to play in Los Angeles.
Does Beckham want to play for the Rams? One source told me Beckham has told a couple of Rams players he wants in. He does love New York. So his feeling for the Rams could quite possibly be only if the Giants trade him. The Rams are going to want to get him signed to a long-term extension to avoid playing the franchise tag game with him in 2019 and 2020 after he plays for the $8.4 million fifth-year option.
Super Bowl Futures
Obviously, there’s no telling whether this is true or not. Beckham could’ve reached out. Or this may be speculation surrounding what is turning out to be a drama-filled offseason for the 25-year-old wideout.
At this point, it is anyone’s guess. Beckham could be headed elsewhere or may not be going anywhere when it is all said and done. One thing is for sure, however; the Rams stand to be considerably better and perhaps a legitimate Super Bowl title contender if this trade does indeed go down.
