Packers reveal plan with injured QB Jordan Love
The Green Bay Packers’ focus after their loss to the Philadelphia Eagles is on the health of quarterback Jordan Love.
The 25-year-old sustained a left knee injury that forced him to exit on the second-to-last play in Friday’s game. Despite the lingering concern around his health, the Packers are not going to place him on the injured reserve.

Love is currently doubtful to play in Week 2, likely seeing Malik Willis make the start in his absence. Willis is the only other quarterback on the active roster. He was acquired in exchange for a seventh-round pick a day before the Packers announced their 53-man roster for the regular season.
“Yeah, if Jordan’s not cleared, then we’ll start Malik and Sean will be the backup,” Packers coach Matt LaFleur said Monday via ESPN.
“Why Malik over Sean? Because Malik’s on the roster and he’s our No. 2 quarterback and that’s the way we’re going to roll.”

The Packers may decide to bring up Sean Clifford to back up Willis if Love is unfit for Week 2. Clifford is currently on the team’s practice squad, making him a viable option to provide additional depth under center.
Willis has three career starts, including the 2022 season with the Tennessee Titans, in which he completed 25 of 49 passes for 234 yards, no touchdown passes, and three interceptions. He failed to surpass 100 passing yards in any of those games, and the Titans had a 1-2 record over that span.
