Patriots favored to lead the league in wins during 2018 NFL season
After a season which ended with a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl, the New England Patriots will be looking to bounce back with Tom Brady and company hoping to win a sixth title in the Bill Belichick era.
According to ESPN’s David Purdum, New England is favored to have another successful season in 2018.
The New England Patriots have won 12 or more games in eight consecutive regular seasons. Las Vegas oddsmakers aren’t sure they’ll reach that point again this year.
Last season, the Patriots won 13 games during the NFL regular season. It lead them to the playoffs and a Super Bowl matchup with the Eagles. Belichick’s squad suffered an opening home loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in embarrassing fashion. They struggled at times throughout their title defense, but eventually reclaimed their form.

However, next season won’t be as easy. A considerable amount of veterans and key role players have left the team in one way or another. Malcolm Butler, Danny Amendola, and Nate Solder took other offers in NFL free agency while the team also traded wideout Brandin Cooks to the Los Angeles Rams.
Needless to say, the path to the Super Bowl this around might be a bit bumpy. Not only have a few key players headed elsewhere, but Brady isn’t getting any younger with the inevitable dropoff in production one step closer.
Despite all the change and Brady’s advanced age, the oddsmakers still have New England favored to win it all. The Eagles are the defending champions and the Rams are revamped team on the rise, but the Patriots remain the cream of the crop in the NFL.
