Patriots QB Mac Jones wants to enjoy the game more during 2023 NFL season
The 2022 NFL season was a nightmare for the New England Patriots as nothing seemed to go right for the storied franchise after offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels chose to take the head coaching job with the Las Vegas Raiders.
McDaniels’ absence proved to be more costly to the Patriots and head coach Bill Belichick than anticipated, with the team choosing not to bring in a new offensive coordinator, which turned out to be a terrible idea, especially for quarterback Mac Jones.

Jones went from being a Pro Bowler to a player that was on the verge of losing his starting job, and this upcoming season he wants things to change, mainly when it comes to enjoying the game of football via ESPN.
“That’s one of the things this offseason that I put a lot of thought in to — just enjoying the game,” Jones said Thursday after the Patriots’ eighth training camp practice.
“I feel I need to do that better — just try to lead the team more so from the mental side. Obviously, the plays and the physical stuff is there. I’ve always kind of been a fun person — hopefully people agree, that’s why people like to play with me. I just have to be consistent there. I feel like sometimes if I’m not consistent, you can tell.”
In order to correct the enormous mistake made by Belichick and company last season, the team has brought back Bill O’Brien to be the new offensive coordinator in New England.

O’Brien should give the team an offensive boost while helping Jones get back on track as one of the promising young quarterbacks in the NFL.
