The Patriots have been a bit short-handed with at the wide receiver position. They parted with several notable names such as Kenny Britt, Eric Decker, Malcolm Mitchell, and Jordan Matthews prior to the start of the season. This had left them quite short-handed in terms of players at the position. It did lead to a notable productive outing from Phillip Dorsett. He wasthe primary recipient recording seven catches for 66 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Coleman has bounced around this offseason as he was traded by the Browns to the Buffalo Bills during training camp. However, he was unable to secure a roster spot with the Bills that led to him being cut. Coleman has shown flashes of potential with his big-play ability, but injuries and inconsistency have plagued his brief NFL career. Fowler should provide much-needed depth at the position.

Meanwhile, Barner will bring much of the same in the backfield behind Rex Burkhead and James White, especially with Jeremy Hill being cut. This should bring another element to the Patriots offense with more options on that side of the ball.
