Patriots Star Julian Edelman to Miss Time After Knee Surgery
The 2020 NFL season has been rough for the New England Patriots as they transition into the post-Tom Brady era. New starting quarterback Cam Newton has struggled under center. Now, he’s lost one of his best receivers with Julian Edelman going down with a knee injury.
Reportedly, Julian Edelman underwent surgery on his injured knee this week and is expected to miss some time as a result, via ESPN.

New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman underwent a precautionary standard knee procedure Thursday morning, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter, and is expected to miss Sunday’s road game against the Buffalo Bills.
This is a costly blow for the Patriots as Belichick tries to figure things out after starting the season poorly. The Patriots are struggling with a disappointing record of 2-4.

Julian Edelman isn’t the same player of old and is undoubtedly on the downside of his career at 34. However the veteran wide receiver is arguably the best player at the position for the Patriots this season. New England has been reluctant to make moves to improve the position. As result, they are in a bind once again.
In six games this season, Edelman has yet to reach the endzone with only 21 catches for 315 yards. Not an ideal body of work for the veteran wideout as he tries to help get this offense back on track in what is looking like a down year for the usually dominant Patriots.
