Race Tightens in NFC East: Giants Lead by One Game
There are four games left in the regular season and three teams are now withing one game of the lead in the NFC East. Since it is a three way battle, and the teams are beating each other up, there likely will be no wild card coming from this division. So like last season, one team and one team only will make the playoffs from the East. But that team will be battle tested and will be a tough out once they get there.
The New York Giants lead the division at 7-5. They’re now have lost three of four and are coming off a tough 17-16 loss to the Washington Redskins who are now 6-6 and on a three game winning streak. The Dallas Cowboys are also 6-6 coming off their 38-33 win o0ver the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Then there are the Eagles who are 3-9 and playing out the string.
5dimes has the following odds on this week’s games:
Baltimore Ravens at Washington Redskins- Ravens are +1.5 +105 or +120. Redskins are -1.5 -125 or -140. Over/under is 48. Interesting that a 9-3 team is an underdog to a 6-6 team. But that’s what we have here. That’s a testament to how hot Robert Griffin III is. We’re going to go with the Ravens though at +1.5 and take the over.
Philadelphia Eagles at Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Eagles are +9 -130 or +310. Bucs are -9 +110 or -370. Over/under is 47. The Bucs really need a win if they are to stay in the NFC Wild Card hunt. Nine points is a lot to give any NFL team, but especially one with as much talent as the Eagles. We’re taking the Eagles +9 and the under.
Dallas Cowboys at Cincinnati Bengals- Dallas is +3 -105 or +145. The Bengals are -3 -115 or -165. Over/under is 45.5. Both teams need a win to stay in good shape for the playoffs. This is going to be a fun game. We are going to go with the Bengals at home -3 and the over. We think this will be a high scoring game with a lot of touchdown passes from both quarterbacks, Tony Romo of the Cowboys and Andy Dalton of the Bengals.
New Orleans Saints at New York Giants- Saints are +4.5 -110 or +185. The Giants are -4.5 -110 or -225. The over/under is 53. We like the Saints +4.5 and the over. The Giants really need a win, but now the Saints are done and that makes them a dangerous team. They have no pressure, but still a lot of talent. Footballs will be flying around this day too with Drew Brees of the Saints and Eli Manning of the Giants putting it up a lot.
