This is yet another move to revamp their group of wide receivers that already includes the addition of All-Pro wideout Antonio Brown and Tyrell Williams. The acquisition of Grant gives the team more depth at the position with another proven asset in the passing game.
Although he has dealt with injuries over the last couple of years, he has shown that he can make a significant impact on the field. In his lone campaign with the Colts, he had 35 catches for 334 receiving yards and a touchdown. He struggled down the stretch of the regular season to grasp onto a stable role due to injury and his play as he recorded nine receptions for 65 receiving yards in the last eight games played.

However, this is a chance for him to get back on track after a disappointing campaign where he will be counted on to play a consistent role in the passing game. Grant could primarily see work in the slot position as both Brown and Williams work on the outside.
With the free agent market dwindling down, the Raiders could look to further stabilize the roster with a few other minor moves.
