Raiders agree to a deal with wide receiver Nelson Agholor

The Las Vegas Raiders are serious about trying to contend for a Super Bowl title in the near future. It’s a new era in a new city with head coach Jon Gruden leading the way for the storied franchise. The team has been making moves this offseason to help bolster both sides of the football. However, they were unable to land a big-name receiver, which has been a weakness for the squad.

On Sunday, the Raiders were finally able to land a wide receiver that could help them in the passing game. Although not a big-name like Robby Anderson, who remains unsigned, the team was able to bring in former Philadelphia Eagles pass catcher, Nelson Agholor, according to ESPN.

The Las Vegas Raiders have reached a one-year deal with free-agent wide receiver Nelson Agholor, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Saturday.

During his five-year stint with the Eagles, Agholor recorded 224 receptions for 2,515 yards and a total of 18 touchdowns. Not an incredibly impressive resume over that span. Although it is substantial enough to make this signing significant for the Raiders. Especially with their need to improve the position before next season.

Last season, Agholor 39 passes for 363 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games played with Philadelphia. Agholor dealt with a knee injury during the 2019 campaign which forced him to miss five of the last six games of the season.

If healthy, the 26-year-old could play a big role in the receiving corps for the Raiders alongside other notable receivers like Tyrell Williams, Hunter Renfrow, and Keelan Doss. If everything falls into place for the Raiders, they could hit the Las Vegas ground running.
