Raiders coach Jack Del Rio says ‘good chance’ Amari Cooper plays vs. Eagles
The Oakland Raiders are clinging on to hopes that they can be playoff bound for the second straight season after a less than stellar performance up to this point in the 2017 campaign.
In Week 16, the Raiders will have a tough task ahead against the top-seeding Philadelphia Eagles on the road. Philadelphia has already punched their ticket to the postseason, but they’re hoping to clinch a first-round bye meaning there’s something to play for on Sunday.
Fortunately for Oakland, the team could have one of their best offensive players back on the field in Amari Cooper. Head coach Jack Del Rio likes the team’s chances to have him back on the field, via ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez.
“He’s done pretty well,” Raiders coach Jack Del Rio said of Cooper. “… There’s a good chance we’ll have him.”
Despite the potential return of Cooper, won’t tilt the scales in the Raiders’ favor however as the Eagles are favored to get the best of Del Rio’s squad during the holiday weekend. Although Philadelphia recently lost star quarterback Carson Wentz to a season-ending ACL injury, veteran Nick Foles has done well in his place and as a result, has kept the Eagles favored in a matchup like this one.
Along with the Eagles being on the road, Philadelphia should come out on top in this showdown between these two teams seemingly headed in different directions ahead of the NFL playoffs.
