Raiders’ Davante Adams has two teams high on trade wish list

It seems as though superstar wide receiver Davante Adams has played his last game for the Las Vegas Raiders. It has come to light that he would prefer to be traded, which is a big blow for the storied NFL franchise.

Despite constantly downplaying trade speculation in the NFL offseason, Adams has changed his stance and it appears that the Raiders are now willing to move him in a deal. The real question moving forward is where Adams might land, as he is still highly productive at 31.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Adams has two teams in particular atop his trade wish list:

Two NFL teams high on Davante Adams’ wish list of places to land if he’s traded — if not at the very top — are the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints, league sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Wednesday.

It comes as no surprise that these two teams would be Adams’ preference, as he has a relationship with quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Derek Carr. Adams didn’t get much time with his former Fresno State teammate in Las Vegas but is very close with Carr, while the superstar wideout had a lot of success playing with Rodgers with the Green Bay Packers.

Although the Kansas City Chiefs desperately need a wide receiver after Rashee Rice’s injury, the defending Super Bowl champions aren’t in the running, according to Schefter.

There also are other teams that remain interested in trading for Adams. Despite any speculation, the Kansas City Chiefs are not expected to be an option, sources told Schefter on Wednesday.

The Raiders are looking for a second-round draft pick and additional compensation in exchange for Adams via Schefter:

The Raiders have informed other teams they would “consider” trading Adams for a package that would include a second-round draft pick and additional compensation, league sources told Schefter on Tuesday.

It remains uncertain whether this trade will happen quickly, as the Raiders might not be highly motivated to make the move or could be going through offers to find the best option.
