Rams QB Jared Goff is not thinking about a potential contract extension
The Los Angeles Rams are coming off their first Super Bowl berth in well over a decade, which has shifted much of the attention toward the next contract for Pro Bowl quarterback Jared Goff.
This is a situation that has drawn more scrutiny with Goff entering the fourth year of his rookie deal that does have a fifth-year option for 2020. With that in mind, he has voiced that he isn’t concerned about the matter at this point in time, according to Gary Klein of the LA Times.
“Not on my mind at all,†said Goff, who is preparing for his fourth NFL season. “I know the deal and understand that I hired an agent for that reason, and things always work out. You continue to play well, it will work itself out.â€
In his first three years in the league, Goff has made a steady improvement in his play on the field. He has become one of the top young quarterbacks in the league that has led the Rams to back-to-back playoff appearances. His play has been a major factor in helping make Los Angeles into a powerhouse in the league.
Goff has done more than enough to prove that he can be the franchise quarterback for the Rams for the long-term. He and head coach Sean McVay have helped transform the organization into having a bright future ahead.
This may ultimately just be a situation that Goff has indicated will work itself in the near future as soon as this offseason.
