Rams star Puka Nacua shockingly checks into rehab
Los Angeles Rams star wide receiver Puka Nacua has checked into rehab, according to his attorney, Levi McCathern.
McCathern told The California Post on Wednesday that the Rams wideout had already made that decision before a woman in Los Angeles filed a lawsuit against him last month, alleging that he made an “unprovoked antisemitic statement” on New Year’s Eve and later bit her on the shoulder.
“He was in [rehab] a substantial period of time before any of these allegations broke … and he’s scheduled to be there for a while longer,” McCathern said.
McCathern has publicly denied the allegations against his client “in the strongest possible terms.”
He also voiced that Nacua will have completed the program well ahead of the Rams’ offseason team activities.
Head coach Sean McVay stated that the team has been aware of the situation since it happened and is still gathering additional information.

McVay also said he wants Nacua to understand the gravity of his responsibility to represent the Rams.
“The play on the field is amazing, and then with what the play has dictated and determined, there’s a responsibility in terms of representing all things, not exclusive to just that,” McVay said via ESPN. “He knows that. Those are the expectations, and we’re hopeful that that’ll be something that this will be an opportunity for him to learn and grow.
“And we are hopeful that he’s a Ram for a really long time, but he understands what the responsibility is, not exclusive to just the production on the field.”
Nacua is heading into a pivotal offseason as he’s eligible to ink a contract extension. The Rams have remained behind him as a key piece for the long haul, but it’s certainly a situation that could have a significant impact on how things unfold in Los Angeles this offseason.
