Ravens coach John Harbaugh doesn’t agree with Lamar Jackson

In the months that have followed the Baltimore Ravens’ disappointing divisional-round loss to the Tennessee Titans, there has been plenty of time to digest the shortcomings.

Reigning league MVP Lamar Jackson voiced that he felt the team took the Titans lightly. He believes this as a result led to their downfall on their home field. However, head coach John Harbaugh has voiced that he doesn’t agree with Jackson, but instead feels the team simply didn’t play well enough, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com.

“I don’t think we took them lightly, personally. We just didn’t play well,” Harbaugh said in a 25-minute video conference call Monday. “If you want to go back and rehash it, we can. But we’re going to try to become a better team in that circumstance at the end of the season, just like we tried to become a better team throughout the season, and we were very successful with that.”

The Ravens got the short end of the stick that saw things go south once they fell behind. It changed the offensive game plan for Baltimore as they never played from a significant deficit throughout the year. That put more of the onus on them to move the ball through the air, which allowed Tennessee to clamp down against the run.

With Derrick Henry torching them for a huge game, that along put them on their heels, and they were never able to recover from that deficit. It’s a learning lesson that the Ravens can learn and grow from moving forward.
