Ravens coach John Harbaugh pledges team will be ‘different’ next season
For the first time in a decade, the Baltimore Ravens will enter the 2019 season with another quarterback under center.
The Ravens have become fully committed to Lamar Jackson as their starting quarterback. With that in mind, head coach John Harbaugh has voiced that Baltimore will be an entirely different team next year, according to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.
“We’ll be a different team next year. We’ll be a different team than we’ve ever been before,†Harbaugh said.
The Ravens have gone in a new direction that Harbaugh is fully committed to having inked a new four-year extension. He will play a big part in helping Baltimore push forward with Jackson as the future under center and not Joe Flacco.
Harbaugh has already voiced that he expects the Louisville product to be a completely different player next season with the experience he has garnered next season. Jackson showed a lot of growth as the season rolled along as he helped the Ravens reach the playoffs.
He has a lot of room for growth as a passer in the pocket, but his ability to create plays with his legs as a runner is something that could greatly benefit him moving forward. Much of which will lie with him becoming a more decisive and smarter runner to keep him healthy for the long haul of his career.
There should be plenty of changes to their roster with the focus on building the team around Jackson. Beyond that, the Ravens have a bright future ahead of them
