Lamar Jackson says he’s ‘ready’ for rivalry with Steelers

Since taking over as the starting quarterback of the Baltimore Ravens, Lamar Jackson has yet to experience the rivalry against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Lamar Jackson will get his first taste of it in Week 5 action in Pittsburgh. There, he can expect a raucous environment. The second-year quarterback appears to be more than ready for the atmosphere and challenge on Sunday afternoon, according to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk.

“I know it’s going to be crazy. Steelers Nation is going to be pumped for the game. We’re going to have our Flock Nation in the building. It’s going to be a good rivalry. I’m ready,” Jackson said.

The rivalry between the Ravens and Steelers is one of the most intense matchups in the league. It has been nothing but low-scoring games that are typically decided by a single touchdown. These are two organizations that know each other quite well, which presents an even greater intensity involved.

The Ravens are heading into the game having dropped their last two contests. Meanwhile, the Steelers are coming off their first win of the season after beating the winless Cincinnati Bengals. Things should be taken to the next level with the lead in the AFC North being up in the air with the Cleveland Browns heading the division at a 2-2 mark.

This sets the table for what should be another hard-fought game where Jackson could make a strong first impression in a rivalry that he will likely play in for years to come.
