Ravens sign veteran CB Jaire Alexander to one-year deal

The Baltimore Ravens may have gotten a lot better on the defensive side of the football this week, with the title contenders from the AFC North bringing in an upgrade at the cornerback position.

According to Jamison Hensley of ESPN, the Ravens have signed veteran corner Jaire Alexander to a one-year deal, reuniting him with his former Louisville teammate and superstar quarterback, Lamar Jackson.

The Baltimore Ravens granted Lamar Jackson’s wish Wednesday by signing former Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander.

The one-year deal with Alexander is worth a maximum of $6 million, including $2 million in incentives, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Baltimore is arguably in a championship window right now, with the team being stacked on both sides of the football. Jackson and Derrick Henry lead the way on offense, while Alexander will try to lead the defense with Kyle Van Noy, Roquan Smith and Marlon Humphrey.

The Ravens will be one of the teams considered a serious threat in the AFC during the 2025 campaign, along with the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills, to name a few of the elite teams in the conference.

Alexander spent his entire NFL career with the Green Bay Packers before deciding to join the Ravens this week. The veteran corner is a two-time All-Pro and widely considered to be one of the best defensive players in the NFL.

In the 78 games he’s played in his professional career, Alexander has recorded 12 interceptions, 70 passes defensed, three forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, 1.5 sacks and 287 tackles.
