Saints QB Drew Brees is reportedly ‘fine’ amid knee inflammation
The New Orleans Saints are playoff-bound yet again this season with Drew Brees and company firing on all cylinders at the right time. However, following two historic weeks for Brees, the future Hall of Famer is dealing with a knee issue.
According to Katherine Terrell of The Athletic, Brees is dealing with some inflammation in his knee, but the team isn’t concerned heading into Week 17.
Payton said Brees had some inflammation in his knee, they just listed him on the injury report in case he had to put a sleeve on, said he's "fine"

Although the Saints have clinched a playoff spot, the team would still benefit greatly from a win in Week 17 when they face the Carolina Panthers. New Orleans can get a first-round bye and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs if a few scenarios play out along with a win over the division rival Panthers.
With that being said, Brees will be playing on Sunday against Carolina in hopes of getting the win and taking a step toward setting up an ideal situation to begin the postseason. Along with Brees being a bit banged up, Saints superstar wide receiver Michael Thomas also popped up on the team’s injury report this week. Thomas is dealing with a hand injury, which could be concerning considering his position.
The health of these two star players will be crucial to the team’s success in the playoffs as they look to avenge their unfortunate loss in the NFC Championship Game last year against the Los Angeles Rams. New Orleans will be a force to be reckoned with once again this year and potentially one of the teams to beat along with the San Francisco 49ers.
