Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger hosts receiving corps at his lake house
In the last several months, Pittsburgh Steelers star quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has taken several big hits to his reputation given how things unfolded with the team.
However, he has made a progressive push toward fixing that perception as he has worked off the field more so with his teammates. This now includes him setting up an offseason trip with workouts with several of his Steelers teammates, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger — who has stayed quiet this offseason despite criticism from several ex-teammates, including Antonio Brown — hosted the team’s offensive skill players at his lake house in Georgia this week for some R&R and on-field work.
Several Steelers in attendance posted Instagram videos of teammates, including wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and running back James Conner, hanging with Roethlisberger on his boat on Lake Oconee, swimming and walking around his compound.
Although this is a simple offseason bonding session, it does allow for things to be further worked out on both sides. Roethlisberger looks to have taken the criticism that he has received to heart in light of how things unfolded with Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell to a lesser degree.
The Steelers have committed to him for the next three seasons that means he will continue to be the face of the franchise. This will mean that he has to take that responsibility another notch to help the franchise work this rut.
Ultimately, things like this can go a long way to helping shift things in the right direction.
