Texans QB Deshaun Watson determined to win a Super Bowl

The Houston Texans were the one team during the NFL playoffs that gave the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs a real run for their money. In fact, they dominated the Chiefs in the first half of their playoff matchup. However, Patrick Mahomes turned it on and it was over for Houston.

With the Texans having flirted with a major upset and potential run at a Super Bowl, star quarterback Deshaun Watson is as hungry as ever moving forward. The soon-to-be 25-year-old is solely focused on being a Super Bowl champion moving forward as he made abundantly clear recently, via Pro Football Talk.

“Now that’s my priority,” Watson said of winning a Super Bowl, via Mark Berman of FOX 26. “Yeah, that’s for sure. I’m trying to pull a big three. I won a state championship. I won a national championship. So, of course, I’m trying to get a Super Bowl [championship]. I’m trying to, of course, be legendary. That’s my words since college. For me to be that, I have to win a Super Bowl and definitely win it with the Houston Texans. We’ve never won one here before. We haven’t even come on the brink of winning one. We’ve got to get to that game before that, and then we can think about that. I’m trying to create history and make a dynasty.”

The Texans are one of the few teams in the NFL that are equally talented on both sides of the football. They have a potential superstar in Watson and a new star downfield with the addition of wideout Brandin Cooks and acquisition of running back David Johnson. Houston also has J.J. Watt still running the show defensively.

Houston has all the pieces to compete for a championship, but it will be overcoming the Chiefs who are coming off their first Super Bowl title that will be the biggest challenge for Watson and company moving forward.
