Todd Gurley miffed about not getting paid on time by Rams
Last month, the Los Angeles Rams had to make the tough decision to move on from star running back Todd Gurley after five seasons.
The Rams have acknowledged that was a choice that wasn’t correlated to the massive financial commitment to him over the next several years, but it’s hard to look past that. With that in mind, Gurley took to social media to voice that the Rams have yet to pay him his final check. (H/T Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk)
Gurley took to Twitter on Wednesday to send a message to the Rams, telling them that they are “past due” and to “[s]end me money.”
Los Angeles had parted ways with Gurley before an additional $10.5 million became fully guaranteed; the team had already owed him a fully-guaranteed $7.55 million roster bonus. That is something that the team has yet to pay the star running back.
It’s well overdue and quite embarrassing for Gurley to have to take to social media to bring attention to the situation. There isn’t any ill will, but more so that it can allow the matter to be handled once and for all.
Gurley is set to begin the next chapter of his career with the Atlanta Falcons on a one-year deal. It’s a chance to prove that he still has plenty left in the tank to produce at a high level despite lingering concerns with the health of his knee. Meanwhile, the Rams are expected to move forward with second-year running back Darryl Henderson in a significant role.
