Tom Brady in deep talks to own a part owner of the Raiders

In the month following Tom Brady’s retirement from the NFL after 23 seasons, he’s remained active with a variety of ventures. The future first-ballot Hall of Fame quarterback is now pushing his way toward team ownership. ESPN is reporting that Brady is in deep discussions toward becoming a limited partner for the Las Vegas Raiders.

The talks have been ongoing for the last few weeks and could soon become finalized. However, even if Brady is able to reach an agreement with Raiders owner Mark Davis, the rest of the NFL will first need to vet and approve the transaction.

He will need at least 24 current team owners to give approval for the move. Throughout the latter part of his playing career, Brady built numerous business ventures to build his wealth off the field.

Now that he’s retired, it’s quite clear that he wants to stay around the game in another capacity. The minor ownership stake isn’t surprising given Brady’s previous reported attempt to become a limited partner with the Miami Dolphins.

Brady has already purchased a stake in the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces, which is a team that is primarily owned by Davis.

Although Brady has stepped into retirement, there remains chatter concerning a return. This move signals that the former star quarterback holds no interest in playing another NFL season.

Meanwhile, Brady is expected to begin his new career path in the broadcast booth next year under his reported massive 10-year, $375 million contract with Fox.
