Vikings star Adam Thielen is hoping to secure a contract extension with Minnesota
In the last two seasons, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen has quickly become one of the top wide receivers in the league.
This has pushed forward dialogue surrounding his contract situation as he’s set to enter the third year of his four-year, $19.2 million deal where he will make rough $5.8 million for the 2019 season. With that in mind, Thielen’s agent, Blake Baratz, has voiced that his client has a strong desire to work out a new extension with the team, according to Courtney Cronin of ESPN.

“Adam’s not that type of person,” Baratz said of the receiver holding out. “I would never condone a player to hold out or be disruptive if it wasn’t for a very valid reason, and [what’s not] a valid reason, to me, is both sides working in good faith to come to a conclusion that makes sense for everybody.”
Thielen may have two years left o his current deal, but he has vastly outplayed his contract. He has elevated himself to being an elite wide receiver in the league behind back-to-back Pro Bowl selections. This includes coming off a career-best campaign where he had 113 catches for 1,373 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.

Thielen is hitting the prime of his career where looks to have several highly productive campaigns ahead of him that could see him play a huge part in being a key piece of the puzzle offensively to the Vikings. Given that he still has two more years left in his deal, it does give the team more time to work out a new extension with him.
Nonetheless, this is something that could certainly transpire at some point during the offseason to avoid it becoming a distraction down the line.
