NHL Special Odds 2013: Rookie of the Year
Thus far several rookies have been impressive, prompting some sports analysis to claim that this years all-rookie class could be the best we have seen in nearly a decade. While we are in the midst of  a very young season, some rookie of the year favorites have already began to emerge.
All odds taken from player prop bets at Bovada.Â
Thomas Hertl, San Jose Sharks
3/2
The San Jose Sharks‘ Thomas Hertl has the best odds at winning Rookie of the Year so far. Hertl got off to an incredible start but has since began to slow down a bit. Â However, he still leads all rookies in scoring with 13 points while playing a bit over 15 minutes per game. Â His weakness may be the talented team he plays for. Â It is going to be hard for Hertl to continue to stand out as he plays on one of the best teams in the NHL. Â Therefore, his highlight reel may not get as stacked as some of the other candidates for Rookie of the Year.
Sean Monahan, Calgary Flames
5/2
Sean Monaghan has played seven games this season and has put home 14 goals. Â Monaghan has been getting compliments from his teammates and coaches with all mutually agreeing that he is a player capable of playing at a very high level. Â Expect Monaghan to play a key role, if not provide the foundation for the Calgary Flames as they enter a rebuilding period this season.
Seth Jones, Nashville PredatorsÂ
3/1
Seth Jones may have Shea Weber to help him out, but he is also putting some big stats in his own right. Â Jones is averaging 25 minutes of play time every game, where he has contributed seven points overall. Â As a Defensemen, his most impressive stats are the four hits and 24 blocked shots he has racked up. Â He is quick, agile and great asset to the Nashville Predators and could pull out a Rookie of the Year win.
Alex Chiasson, Dallas Stars
4/1
Alex Chiasson of the Dallas Stars has shown some superstar potential. Â He has a lot of experience in playing high-level hockey as he played in college and racked up a couple season in the AHL. Â He has brought that experience with him to the Stars where he has racked up 10 points in 15 games. Â The all-around talented right winger is going to be a major player in Dallas.
Mark Arcobello, Edmonton Oilers
13/2
Undoubtedly, with all the competition, Mark Arcobello is the dark horse candidate for the Rookie of the Year award. He got his opportunity to play due to the Edmonton Oilers seemingly never ending injury list. Â In the time he has got to play, he has knocked in 12 points. Â He has flown somewhat under the radar due to another rookie center performing at a high level, Hertl.
