Milan Lucic Involved In Nightclub Altercation

New York Islanders v Boston BruinsOn Saturday night, Boston Bruins tough guy Milan Lucic was involved in a scuffle off the ice, for once. Back in his hometown of Vancouver to play the Canucks, Lucic decided to go barhopping after getting blown out 6-2.

Naturally the whole incident was caught by someone who cared enough to pull out his camera phone and post it on YouTube, but not enough to do anything else really. Which is pretty much the way of the world these days.

No punches are seen being thrown in the video, but Lucic can be seen (and heard) pulling the old Don’t you know who I am? shtick. Asked the man, “Do you know who you’re f***ing with?” Lucic responded, “Do you know who you’re f***ing with?”

No word yet on if either of them knew who they were f***ing with.

On Monday, DJ Bean, a Bruins reporter for WEEI.com, tweeted that Lucic claims to be the victim of an attack and that he will be exploring legal options. He told police over the weekend that he was struck multiple times by the man he’s seen arguing with in the video.

Whether his version of events is what actually happened or just another version of the truth is yet to be seen, but it definitely left Lucic with less than loving feelings about his hometown.

He told ESPN’s Joe McDonald that he is “disgusted and outraged” and that “other than being at Rogers Arena, no one will ever see me in downtown Vancouver again.”

Given the trouble he’s had there in recent years, it’s kind of surprising it took Lucic this long to reach that conclusion. When the Bruins were playing the Canucks in the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals, apparently fans in Vancouver verbally abused his grandparents and threw snacks at them.

Not even a year later those crazy Vancouver  fans were back at it again, but they dragged God into in February 2012. Lucic’s family churched was defaced with pro-Canucks graffiti. Not to mention…ahem…”crudely drawn genitalia.” At least they didn’t set it on fire?

It’s good Lucic has finally gotten to a place of acceptance about the toxic situation in Vancouver. Although, he really should’ve gotten there after some jagoff spray painted a penis on his church.
