NHL Odds and Picks for Wednesday

Pittsburgh Penguins v Boston Bruins - Game FourThere are four games on the Wednesday night NHL schedule so we may as well break them all down for you. Sportsbook has the odds on all four games:

Carolina Hurricanes (20-19-9) at Philadelphia Flyers (25-19-6)- Carolina is still in the chase for a Wild Card in the Eastern Conference which despite having one of the worst records in the East is only five points out of the second Wild Card. They have a lot of competition for the spot though so they really need a win tonight. The Flyers are currently in third place in the Metropolitan Division which puts them in the playoffs at no worse than a sixth seed.

Carolina is +1.5 -240 and the Flyers are +1.5 -200 ATS. Moneyline is Hurricanes +115 and Flyers -135. O/U is 5.5 with over +105 and under -125. We are going to go with the Flyers -135 and the over +105 in this one.

Montreal Canadiens(27-17-5) at Pittsburgh Penguins(34-13-2)- Montreal is hanging on to the third spot in the Atlantic Division by a thread. They are tied for third at 59 points with the Toronto Maple Leafs right now, so this game is big for them. The Pens are trying to stay on top of the Eastern Conference to gain home ice throughout the Eastern Conference Playoffs. They are currently five points ahead of the Boston Bruins with 70 points.

The Canadiens are +1.5 -170 and the Penguins are -1.5 +150 ATS. Moneyline is Montreal +170 and Pittsburgh -200. O/U is 5.5 with over +115 and under -135. We are going with Pittsburgh -200 and the under -135 in this one.

Chicago Blackhawks (32-8-11) at Detroit Red Wings (21-18-10)- Chicago is in the hunt for the best record and number one seed in the Western Conference playoffs as they try to go back-to-back with the Stanley Cup. The Red Wings are just trying to make the playoffs as they currently sit in a tie for fifth spot, two points out of the second Wild Card spot. The Blackhawks are four points behind the Anaheim Ducks for the number one seed in the West.

Chicago is -1.5 +170 and the Red Wings are +1.5 -200 ATS. Moneyline is Chicago -170 and Detroit is +150. O/U is 5.5 with over -110 and over -110. We like the Blackhawks -1.5 +170 in this one and we like the over -110.

Phoenix Coyotes (23-17-9) at Calgary Flames (16-27-7)- Calgary is coming off the fight/game with the Vancouver Canucks that saw a lot of players get benched for a game that was two seconds old when the melee began. It will be interesting to see what happens tonight with the Flames. Phoenix sits third in the Western Wild Card race, four points behind the last playoff team, the Minnesota Wild.

The Coyotes are -1.5 +205 and the Flames are +1.5 -245 ATS. Moneyline is Phoenix -135 and Calgary +115. O/U is 5.5 with over +110 and under -130. We like Phoenix -135 and the under -130 in this one. A team that gets into a brawl at the start of the game apparently doesn’t care much about winning at this point.
