Nick Foles reaches agreement to restructure contract with Eagles

Nick Foles, Eagles

It’s looking increasingly likely reigning Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles will remain with the Philadelphia Eagles for at least one more season. Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said as much recently.

Now, according to NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo, the Eagles and Foles have come to terms on a revised contract. The report notes that Foles still has an ability to hit free agency next March with the two sides having a mutual option for the 2019 season.

This is truly Philadelphia’s way of catering to Foles as he steps back into a backup role behind the injured Carson Wentz next season. Remember, Foles replaced his younger counterpart under center when Wentz suffered a torn ACL in December.

Foles would ultimately go on to lead Philadelphia to its first ever Super Bowl title.

The deal will give Foles a raise from the $4 million base salary he was set to earn next season and hand him some major incentives moving forward.
