O.J. Simpson could be released as early as July
Hall of Fame NFL running back O.J. Simpson may soon be a free man. As reported by TMZ Sports, Simpson’s parole hearing has been set for July 20.
Imprisoned since 2008 after being convicted of armed robbery and kidnapping charges back in 2007, Simpson won’t personally attend the hearing. Instead, per the report, he’ll be video conferenced in from the Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada.
If Simpson is paroled, then he could be released as early as October 1, according to “A rep for the Nevada Board of Parole Commissioners,†who confirmed the parole date as well, per TMZ Sports.
If he is released, then Simpson will certainly need a strong support system around him.
Since his playing days, which earned him Hall of Fame honors, both at the collegiate and professional levels, Simpson has displayed an increasingly alarming escalation of behavioral issues.
These issues have led to multiple arrests, and a leading concussion expert said in 2016 “I would bet my medical license he has CTE.â€
