Oakland Raiders Underdogs Against AFC West Rival San Diego Chargers In Week 7
The Oakland Raiders will face another stiff challenge in Week 7 with Derek Carr and company traveling from one end of California to another to take on the division rival San Diego Chargers. The Raiders will be coming off a much needed bye week after being handed their third loss of the season at the hands of another AFC West rival in the Denver Broncos.
Currently, the Broncos are dominating the competition within the AFC West division. Denver is a perfect 6-0 and may very well run away with the division title if the Chargers and Raiders can’t make things interesting over the next few weeks.
According to Sportsbook.ag, the Chargers are favored to come out on top on their home field on Sunday night at Qualcomm Stadium. San Diego is sporting a -4.5 point spread to record their third win of the season.
Although the Chargers are still a talented football team with veteran quarterback Philip Rivers leading the way, Oakland is a team on the rise with a potentially bright future ahead. Head coach Jack Del Rio has seemingly turned this team filled with young talent into a force to be reckoned with and that may become even more apparent in Week 7 in San Diego.
The biggest concerns for the Raiders moving forward is the defense and the ability to closeout games. The Raiders could easily be in first place within the division had they sealed the deal against the Broncos and overcome the Chicago Bears’ resurgence a few weeks ago.
With that being said, this will be a competitive matchup between two teams looking to prove they are much better than their record suggests. The Raiders (+4.5) have a great chance of pulling off the upset this weekend.
