Odds Makers: Clippers Top Futures Board for 2019-20 NBA Title
The Los Angeles Clippers have moved to the top of the futures board for the 2019-20 NBA championship after acquiring Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. The two moves give the Clippers the best duo in the league.
Several sportsbooks both online and in Vegas have the Clippers as the +275 favorites with the Los Angeles at +350 a close second. The top five is rounded out by the Milwaukee Bucks at +600, Philadelphia 76ers at +1000 and the Houston Rockets at +1200.
The Clippers will have Leonard who just won an NBA title with Toronto after having a superb postseason and George who during the regular season was in the conversation when MVP was discussed.
Not only can both Leonard and George score at the offensive end, but the defensive skills the pair possess is what could prove to be the deciding factor in winning an NBA title.
Bettors cannot forget about the Clippers cross town rivals the Lakers. Any team with LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the roster will put up huge points on the score board and contend for the NBA title.
The biggest problem the Lakers will have is the supporting cast that will play in the shadows of James and Davis. As of now, that cast might not be strong enough to keep pace with the Clippers.
Although the Clippers and Lakers top the heap on the odds board to win the NBA in 2020, a handful of other teams cannot be overlooked including the Philadelphia 76ers.
The 76ers signed former Celtics big man Al Horford and will have him beside Joel Embiid in the front court along with Ben Simmons, Josh Richardson and Tobias Harris rounding out the starting five. That group gives the 76ers a legitimate shot to win the Eastern Conference.
The 2019-20 NBA season is shaping up to be a highly competitive one, with the Western Conference once again deep in talent and the Eastern Conference trying to keep pace.
